A BeatingDebt.org campaign.

Welcome to

DEBT FREE CHRISTMAS

Encouraging people to celebrate His holiday debt free.

Is celebrating Jesus' birth about going into debt?

Goals:

1. Shopping for "stuff" reduced.
2. Debt during the holidays reduced.
3. Generosity increased.
4. The Spirit of the season returned to a time of worship, instead of shopping.

Join us to tell others not to overspend and go into debt this Christmas Shopping Season.

Our slogans are:

-Taking on Debt is not a gift to anyone.

-You don't have to buy a gift to give a gift.

-Debt robs your ability to be generous.

-Debt does not lead to happiness.

Gift Spending Plan

We are asking

volunteers

to do one of four things.

1. Organize a personal debt education rally

Organize with your friends and family anytime during the holiday season. Be sure to provide your educational message for more savings and less personal debt on public sidewalks. Make sure to get authorization from your local government.

2. Place Educational Signs

Post your message of protest on a sheet of paper and place them on street poles and community event boards during the holidays. You can get an example here & here.

3. Provide convincing reasons for a debt free christmas

Prepare a blog that provides your readers with some answers as to how to stay away from debt and ways to shop without having to go into debt this Christmas Shopping Season.

4. Give up some gifts for charity

Tell your friends and family that this Christmas you don't need any gifts. Tell them to use the money they were going to spend on you and give to their favorite charity.

If you commit to a Debt Free Christmas,

Share with us how you will tell others.

Let us rise up and be an alternate voice to the corporations marketing to us to buy, buy, buy this Christmas season.
